The L113202 set of tools contains both taps to create metric coarse internal threads and also the corresponding drill sizes so you can be sure you have the right size drills to make the holes for the threads. The drills are Dormer's A002 jobber drills with a specially designed 118 degree split point which helps to self-center the drill when drilling by hand, ensuring the drill point doesn't wander over the surface of the workpiece, and helps produce a more accurate sized hole with a better finish – just the start you need for an accurate thread. With a titanium nitride coated tip, performance is improved and the drill lasts longer. The A002 can be used in a wide range of materials including steels, aluminium and stainless steels and gives a clean, accurate hole every time. For threading we have the E001 tap which creates a metric coarse thread type. This tap has a steam tempered finish which gives it a slightly more slippery surface so workpiece material is less likely to stick to the cutting edges. Suitable for a wide range of materials the E001 is particularly suited to threading soft steels and stainless steels. The spiral point design means the E001 can thread all the way through the material. Coming in a great plastic organiser box, the L113202 set contains seven A002 drills to drill the holes and seven E001 taps to create the threads.
